Texas on Top of Cancer ResearchTexas on Top of Cancer Research with a $3 Billion Fund

When Texas voters approved a ballot measure to create the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT), they took a major step forward in making Texas a hub for cancer research activity. Texas now has a $3 billion fund for research and commercialization projects aimed to find cures and prevent cancer.

CPRIT is “poised to make a difference for all Texans, cancer survivors and their families,” according to Mr. William Gimson, Executive Director of CPRIT.

The Dallas Regional Chamber is hosting a “Texas on Top of Cancer Research” Issue Forum to discuss developments and trends in the cancer research landscape at the state and national levels. This breakfast forum will bring together approximately 100 regional life science and technology executives and entrepreneurs. A keynote address and subsequent panel discussion with feature nationally recognized industry experts.

The event will be held on August 26 at the Adolphus Hotel (1321 Commerce Street, Dallas, Texas) from 7:45 – 11:00 a.m. Ticket prices are $40 for TBC members, $45 for Chamber members and $60 for general admission. Sponsorship opportunities still available.
