Public Index

On January 12th, 2006, The NASDAQ Stock Market and the Greater Dallas Chamber launched a new index to track and monitor the area's public technology and life science companies. This was Phase I of a three-step project to help our region gain national and international visibility as a vibrant tech city.

The NASDAQ ticker symbol for the Index is DTEC. Please visit the NASDAQ website to view the current status of DTEC.

Historical Component

A historical component serves as a benchmark of how the region has faired over the past several years and provides us with the ability to compare the on-going index with past performance. Two graphs were developed to historically illustrate how the Dallas/Fort Worth region faired on the national level.

You can download the graphs (3,084 KB), courtesy of NASDAQ. (Cannot be reproduced or reprinted without written permission.)

Private Index

A separate Index measuring the health and growth of private technology and life science companies is expected to launch in 2008. Currently, an interactive map plotting the location of private companies contributing to the vitality of North Texas is available.

The mission of the Technology Business Council is to establish and sustain the position of the Dallas and Fort Worth region as the broadest and deepest technology center in the world.
