The DFW MetroTEC Index™ (MTEC™)

The Greater Dallas Chamber’s Technology Business Council has created a map of the 12-county region that will plot the location of privately held technology companies that contribute to the health and vitality of North Texas.  There are currently 16 collaborating organizations that support the MTEC.

What

MTEC is a private index mapping the location of the privately, held technology companies throughout the 12-county region.

Why

MTEC will promote and measure the health and growth of a localized technology and life science economy by mapping the private high tech and life science companies driving this growth.  The map will demonstrate the high concentration of technology companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth region and generate visibility for the region’s cutting-edge, entrepreneurial and business spirit.

Phase I

To deliver a static map that charts the core technology and life science companies of the 12-county region. We will map the original 20 companies that applied for the index.

Phase II

To deliver a virtual interactive map with more features that charts the core technology and life science companies of the 12-county region.

Phase III

To enhance the virtual interactive map by adding more features and expanding the type of companies populated on the map.
