Life Science CEO Roundtable

2007 Charter

The Greater Dallas Chamber's Technology Business Council conducts a Life Science CEO Roundtable for CEOs, President or otter chief executives of local life sciences companies for the mutual exchange of ideas, consul and feedback.

  1. Purpose
    1. The Life Science CEO Roundtable meets quarterly to bring together CEOs and presidents of biotechnology, nanotechnology, medical device, research and life science companies for peer-to-peer discussion and idea exchange.
    2. A secondary goal of the Roundtable is to find out the needs of the life science industry so that the Chamber can help address those needs, whether through capital formation, public affairs, talent recruitment or other needs.
  2. Criteria for Participation and Membership
    1. Willingness to contribute and share with Roundtable members and meeting attendees
    2. Must be a chief executive officer of the company
    3. Roundtable membership requires:
      1. Approval for participation based on above qualifications

  3. Rules of Engagement
    1. The Roundtable meets quarterly to discuss topics of interest per member suggestions and feedback. Two of these meetings will be joint with the Technology Business Council's Life Science Leadership Committee and may feature guest speakers or panels that discuss topics of interest to the life science community as well.
    2. The Roundtable may break out for topic-based discussions using Topic Solution Groups
    3. Roundtable events are not intended as a selling or marketing networking events/ opportunities
    4. Contact lists exchanged are proprietary and not to be shared external to the group
    5. Non-disclosure member contact information exchanged
  4. Investment
    1. Each quarter a new investor will sponsor the Life Science CEO Roundtable
    2. Participants are encouraged to explore annual sponsorship in the Greater Dallas Chamber
    3. Participants are encouraged to explore annual investment in the Technology Business Council (TBC). Technology Business Council (TBC). These investment help to underwrite the costs of general operations of the TBC initiatives.
  5. Forum Governance
    1. The Roundtable is formed under the authorization, guidance and direction of the Greater Dallas Chamber's Technology Business Council Life Science Leadership Committee.
    2. The TBC will:
      1. Approve all memberships
      2. Provide speakers as requested by the Roundtable
      3. Suggest topics of discussion or request feedback from the Roundtable on topics of interest
  6. Process/ Programming
    1. Meetings will be held on a quarterly basis - published annually
      1. One topic per meeting (generally)
      2. Roundtable discussion of topic challenges or situation
      3. Roundtable discussion of solutions
      4. One CEO Concern per meeting
      5. Roundtable discussion of concern and solution
      6. BioDFW update at each meeting to keep group aware of local initiatives
    2. Solutions may have an outcome report created - one for each topic
    3. Roundtable website to be maintained by the GDC staff

  7. Metrics
    1. Roundtable success is defined as:
      1. Sustained and growing attendance
      2. Personal solution results/testimonials are documented
      3. New members are gained for the GDC and TBC
  8. Speaker Requirements
    1. TBC member companies receive first preference to provide knowledgeable expert speakers
    2. If no TBC member company can provide an expert speaker on meeting topics, other GDC member companies will be considered
    3. If an expert speaker is not available through the TBC or the GDC, then outside speakers are welcome to present
 
The mission of the Technology Business Council is to establish and sustain the position of the Dallas and Fort Worth region as the broadest and deepest technology center in the world.
