2006 Accomplishments
- Held 6th Annual State of Technology Luncheon with more than 800 attendees and 60 exhibitors.
- Grew the CIO/CTO Forum by 20% and developed new resources to support these regional executives.
- Developed a series of Issues Forums to address cutting-edge technologies and industry issues in the DFW region. More than 1,000 attendees hosted in this series.
- Technology Business Council delegates represented key technology and life sciences legislative issues in both Austin TX and Washington, D.C.
- Successfully advocated for the passing of the Texas Emerging Technology Fund and helped implement the North Texas Regional Center for Innovation and Commercialization
- Supported BioDFW, a collaboration that represents an alliance of industry, education, government and other organizations to foster the growth of the area’s broad life science market and research activities.
- Participated in delegations to the MD&M West Convention and Expo in Anaheim, CA and the BIO 2006 Annual International Convention in Chicago, IL.
- Launched an international marketing campaign to promote the region’s workforce, expertise and leading technologies to the world.
- Technology Business Council investors and leading DFW executives received international press coverage as they presided over the August 10th NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony.
- Hosted the Deputy Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office to address DFW business leaders on intellectual property issues and the patent process.
- Supported and coordinated more than 40 regional and national events on a variety of current initiatives in the life science and technology industries.
2005 Accomplishments
- Held 5th Annual State of Technology Luncheon, featuring Gilles Delfassy, SVP & General Manger Wireless, Texas Instruments; Kris Rinne, Chief Technology Officer, Cingular Wireless; and Angel Ruiz, President and CEO, Ericsson Inc.
- Launched new website (DallasTBC.org), facilitated by Warren Douglas Creative Brand Marketing.
- Technology Business Council Life Sciences Committee spearheads comprehensive regional industry directory.
- The CIO/CTO Forum launched a new Message Board, available to the chief technology enabler of Chamber member companies.
- Through Capital Connections initiatives: Awarded 4 companies with Phase Zero grants, 40 companies with alternative funding options, 150 companies with SBIR/CAPCO training, and helped Hemobiotech exponentially grow its OTCCB value.
- Launched annual series of Quarterly Issues Forums to address cutting-edge technologies and industry issues in the DFW region. Hosted over 1,000 attendees in this series.
- Technology Business Council completes briefing kit on DFW's Technology industry assets, to be distributed in 2006 to 300 national and international media outlets.

2004 Accomplishments
- Received front page media coverage and television coverage for 4th Annual State of Technology Luncheon featuring Scott McNealy, Chairman and CEO of Sun Microsystems, bringing in over 700 business attendees.
- Lead regional coalition of 36 companies, organizations and academic institutions to the International BIO 2004 Conference in San Francisco, CA to promote DFW and raise awareness of the region’s presence in biotechnology and life sciences.
- Conducted the 2nd SBIR/STTR Conference in collaboration with organizations throughout the DFW region to educate North Texans on applying for Federal Grants to fund innovative technology and life sciences businesses.
- Presented position statements on SBIR funding and IP Patent processes to members of Congress at the 2004 Congressional Briefing on behalf of the technology and life sciences industry throughout the region.
- Developed a regional TechTRAQ – the first technology index on behalf of the Dallas Fort Worth region to monitor the growth of our technology and life sciences industry.
- Spearheaded formation of regional BioDFW (formally known as the DFW Metroplex Life Sciences Partnership) with the Fort Worth Chamber, North Texas Commission and The Health Industry Council.
