Technology Business Council
The Technology Business Council’s (TBC) mission is to develop, promote and sustain the greater Dallas region as a global leader in technology talent, innovation, integration and manufacturing. The TBC is comprised of Dallas Regional Chamber member companies, stakeholders in the area’s technology and life science community, and financial investors of the TBC’s activities throughout the year.
Focused Committees
Executive Council
Primary governing body of the TBC comprised of high-level executives from the TBC’s top investor groups. The Council hears reports on TBC programs, provides advice and approval for legislative advocacy, and supplies feedback on major TBC initiatives.
Life Science Council
Engages biotechnology companies, life science organizations, and research institutions through initiatives focused on economic development, public policy, and programs for networking and education. Additional focus is to support the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas.
Sustainable Technologies Committee
Promotes DFW’s renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors by bringing together technology developers and industry leaders for educational forums, information sharing, and networking. The committee raises awareness of the region as an industry leader and focuses on growing the sustainable technologies sector.
Communications Committee
Raises national and international visibility for the region’s technology assets through marketing collateral and outreach campaigns. The Committee provides leadership for the TBC website, resource fact sheets, and the NASDAQ/Dallas Regional Chamber Index, which showcases the region’s technology and life science strength by tracking publically traded, DFW headquartered companies
Programs and Networking Events
10th Annual State of Technology Luncheon and Innovation Showcase
Brings together nearly 1,000 technology and life science executives for a keynoted luncheon and interactive exhibitor showcase highlighting regional cutting-edge technology innovations. Past speakers include CEOs and senior executives from Microsoft Corporation, Texas Instruments, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and AT&T.
Technology Issue Forums
Spotlight timely topics such as sustainable technologies, cyber security, life science trends and other key issues that affect the technology industry. Issue Forums are educational conferences with focused panel discussions to explore in-depth subject matter and facilitate peer-to-peer information sharing. Two to three events are hosted per year with rotating topics.
Technology Legislative Briefings
Feature key federal or state government officials, or policy organizations, for discussion of current technology and life science legislative issues. Topics addressed may include patents, small business funding, cancer research, and telecom.
CIO Symposium
Provides chief technology executives with a private peer-to-peer networking and educational program. Events feature high-profile executives addressing issues impacting the industry and technology role. Attendees are limited to CIO, CTO and direct reports only.
Capital Connections Workshop Series
Connects regional technology and life science entrepreneurs with the investment community to network, gain advice and share resources. Invitation-only workshops feature program on topics including private and public funding opportunities, IPOs, and more.
Sustainable Technologies Networking Events
Gathers renewable energy and energy efficiency executives for afterhours networking and featured speakers. Invitation-only events allow companies to showcase their sustainable focused products or technologies.
